Getting + Exploring Anguilla

Renting a car is an excellent way to explore all Anguilla has to offer — more than 30 white-sand beaches, countless restaurants, art galleries, and so much more…

Getting to Anguilla

Before you can explore Anguilla, you need to get here! Some people fly directly into Anguilla with one of the small local airlines. However, most people arrive in St. Maarten and boat over with either a private boat company or on the public ferry from Marigot, on the French side of St. Martin. Our friend, Nori from Anguilla Beaches, gives a helpful summary of the many ways to get to the island here.

Driving on Anguilla is easy!

Anguilla is just 16 miles long and 3 miles wide and the roads are small and easy to navigate. One main road runs through the island connecting Anguilla from end-to-end and smaller side roads branch off that. The speed limit is 30 mph (50 kph) and it takes approximately 30 minutes to travel the entire length of the island. We drive on the left hand side of the road and while it may sound scary if you haven’t done it, many travelers find it’s easier than driving on the right!

We will provide you with a free map of Anguilla so you can scout out everywhere you want to explore and are available 24/7, should you need roadside assistance or have any questions.
